Simple self-care in Bloomington starts with a little room
Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do for ourselves is make a little room.
Not necessarily in our schedules, although that can help. Sometimes it’s making room to breathe, to rest, to move, or simply to notice how we’re feeling.
Our days fill up quickly. Work, family, responsibilities, and the endless little things that ask for our attention can make it easy to overlook ourselves.
At That’s the Rub, we believe wellbeing doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it begins with an hour on the massage table, a quiet moment to reconnect with your body, or the simple decision to make yourself a priority. What does “make yourself a priority” mean to you?
For me, it’s meditation before or after I take care of the dogs, walking in the morning, and a slow breakfast with a cup of tea before I do any work for anyone else.
Stretch & Relax and Sound Bath this fall
As we move further into fall, we’re creating more opportunities for you to experience that connection from the inside. Our upcoming Stretch & Relax classes and Sound Bath experiences offer different ways to slow down, settle in, and enjoy a little space that’s just for you.
Small Business Saturday (and every day we’re open)
We’re also looking ahead to Small Business Saturday in November, a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the local businesses and community connections that make Bloomington special. Personally, as a small business owner, I think of every day we’re open as a small business shopping day, not just the Saturday after Thanksgiving. But maybe that’s just me.
At That’s the Rub, we offer facial products to support healthy, radiant skin, and the best magnesium bath flakes on the planet. I know, I’ve tried a lot of them. This works best, and my body is picky, believe me. We offer bath bombs, lotions, castor oil and, of course, our scented candles from Lake House Candle Company, made in Nashville, Indiana, with pure essential oils. I would have it no other way.
What would making a little room for yourself look like this week?
For now, we invite you to consider that simple question.
Maybe it’s scheduling the massage or facial you’ve been thinking about. Maybe it’s taking a walk, stretching before bed, or sitting quietly with a cup of tea. I recommend all of these, but find one that fits you and do it consistently. If you need permission to do it, I give you permission to take care of you. If you need to be dared to take care of yourself, then I double dog dare you. Either way, I bet your body and those around you will thank you, because they will notice the shift even if you don’t.
But seriously, whatever you choose, it begins with noticing what you need and then doing that thing, CONSISTENTLY. I’d love to hear how that works out for you.
We’re here when you’re ready.
That’s the Rub,
Lisa
