
Lisa Keplinger: Pioneering Wellness through Therapeutic Massage and Education
Lisa Keplinger is the founder and visionary behind That’s the Rub Massage Therapy Center and Keplinger Institute in Bloomington, Indiana. With over two decades of experience in massage therapy, Lisa launched her career after graduating with honors from the Utah College of Massage Therapy in 2000. Her dedication and expertise quickly propelled her into national recognition as a Conde-Nast recognized consultant and trainer, specializing in destination and resort spas as well as corporate massage and body treatment programs.
Lisa holds a National Board Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (BCTMB) and is an Indiana Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT). Her extensive professional practice integrates a diverse array of modalities, including Myofascial Therapy, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Craniosacral Therapy, Cupping, Lymphatic Drainage, and Swedish Massage. Drawing on this vast experience, Lisa developed the Ki Results Method, which she actively teaches in Bloomington and throughout the country via continuing education workshops.
Commitment to Education & Mentorship
Passionate about elevating the massage therapy profession through education, Lisa founded and taught the massage therapy program at Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington starting in 2017. In 2023, she established the Keplinger Institute, providing advanced continuing education for massage therapists. Lisa remains deeply committed to mentoring both Ivy Tech students and other aspiring massage therapists at That’s the Rub, guiding them in therapeutic techniques, self-care strategies, and essential business skills.
Holistic Wellness & Creative Expression
Beyond massage therapy, Lisa facilitates Paint From Your Soul Events (run through The Keplinger Institute on EventBrite follow the link for current offerings), a unique offering blending intuitive painting with emotional and spiritual wellness. These sessions allow participants to embark on a journey of meaningful self-discovery and personal growth through creative expression.
Personal Interests & Community
Outside her professional roles, Lisa enjoys engaging with art, yoga, weight training, meditation, walking, reading, and continual learning. She lives in Bloomington with her husband, Jim, and their two spirited dogs, Hudson and Parker. Lisa takes pride in her grown children, who have confidently embarked on their own life journeys.
Lisa no longer accepts private clients, dedicating her time to teaching, training, and raising up the next generation of massage therapists in Bloomington and nationally.
